The Duanwu or Dragon Boat Festival, generally celebrated on the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calender, falls on June 18 this year. It is one of the oldest festivals in China, with a history of more than 2,000 years. Legend holds that this festival is in memory of Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet during the Warring States Period.
In the celebration, you can enjoy a performance about that legend and watch live broadcast of dragon boat racing. In the meantime, varieties of Zongzi, an essential food for this unique occasion, are available, which take different shapes and various fillings. Come and join us!

In the first two days of the Dragon Boat Festival， my mother would buy the reed leaves wrapped in rice dumplings and boil them in clear water， then prepare the ingredients for zongzi： sticky rice， meat， bean paste， red dates， etc.
Next zongzi with grandma， grandma always choose LiangSanPian leaves， to the end of the left hand hold the leaves gently into a roll， and roll into the shape of a cone， roll go toward inside put prepared the raw material， after finally make zongzi bundle with cotton thread， the corners of a good reed "baby" was born.

Tomorrow is dragon boat festival, I and father mother go together Woerma goes buying a zhongzi.
